Usually visible from the shores of Kamari and Perissa, Anafi lies 16 nautical miles east of Santorini. Still unaffected by the mass tourism, this tiny island is an attractive destination for a full-day trip.
The tour starts from the port of Vlyhada in the morning. There is no certain departure time as this is a private trip meaning that you make the program! In any case, it will take us 50-60 minutes to reach Anafi. Seemingly a mountainous island, Anafi has a large number of beaches with crystal clear waters and gold sand. Klisidi, Mikros and Megalos Roukounas, Megas Potamos, Agioi Anargyri, Prassies are only some of them. The direction of the wind will tell us which is the most calm beach to visit. Snacks, drinks and refreshments are offered by the crew after your swim.
Then, we visit one or more beaches or we make a stop at Anafi’s harbour, there are beautiful tavernas and restaurants where you can have your lunch. Ask for the local specialties, no matter what is available, all of them are delicious!
Depending on your mood you pay a visit in the main village of Anafi as well. The name of it is Chora (as it is the case with most of Cyclades) and it is located on top of a mountain. With only 270 inhabitants, Chora is densely populated but it has its own unique character. Don’t miss the old Venetian Kasteli (castle), you can reach it, if you take the paved old streets leading to the top.
We return in Santorini in the afternoon to watch the sunset on the way back!
